Mine till Midnight

Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas
When an unexpected inheritance elevates her family to the ranks of the aristocracy, Amelia Hathaway discovers that tending to her younger sisters and wayward brother was easy compared to navigating the intricacies of the ton. Even more challenging: the attraction she feels for the tall, dark, and dangerously handsome Cam Rohan.

Wealthy beyond most men’s dreams, Cam has tired of society’s petty restrictions and longs to return to his “uncivilized” Gypsy roots. When the delectable Amelia appeals to him for help, he intends to offer only friendship—but intentions are no match for the desire that blindsides them both. But can a man who spurns tradition be tempted into that most time-honored arrangement: marriage? Life in London society is about to get a whole lot hotter….

Like most of Lisa Kleypas's books this was good. Its a historical romance and if you read her other books you'll know the character of Cam Rohan, the 1/2 gypsy, part Math Wizard, all round dark brooding hero.

He's wealthy but a social outcast because of his gypsy 1/2 (except to a small group of aristocrats whom he calls friends) and manages the most popular gentleman's club in London. Amelia's brother (who just attained a title) seems hell bent on killing himself due to a the death of his beloved. Being the glue that holds her family together, she finds comfort in Cam's arms. And per the formula for historical romances, they fall in love. Not original but well written with entertaining characters.

Hurts So Good (Erotica)

Three deliciously sexy stories of sensual healers and their naughty patients....

Gail Faulkner
Romeo

After years of illness, Lauren is desperate for a reprieve from her stiflingly protective family -- so she joins her best friend Carla for a weekend at her family's ranch. Although Carla warns the cool, collected Lauren about her womanizing cousin Romeo, when Lauren and Romeo first lock eyes, they feel undeniable passion for one another. Romeo knows he can have any women he desires, but now he longs only to care for this sexy little minx -- and has one short weekend to convince her to stay.

Lisa Renee Jones
Hurt So Good

Shy and cautious physical therapist Kelly Marshall is all work and no play. Determined to go to medical school and avoid becoming like her recklessly irresponsible mother, she has always repressed her wildest and most sinful desires. That is, until she meets sexy architect Mark Majors and discovers a deeply sensual side she never knew she had. And when weeks later he appears in her exam room -- needing her healing touch -- she can't help but surrender, once again, to the passion blazing between them.

Sahara Kelly
Sizzle

For fiery redhead Susanna Chalmers, Dylan Sinclair was the handsome muscle-bound guy in high school she could never have. But eleven years later, now a relationship therapist, Susanna sees Dylan in one of her lectures -- and he reminds her of a steamy night after senior prom when he knew he wanted to have his way with her. As a doctor, Susanna knows he isn't relationship material. But as a woman, her extremely aroused body is telling her otherwise.

This is a HOT book. If you're in the mood for hot Alpha males and great sex, then this is the book for you.

Romeo by Gail Faulkner is a nice story about a woman who's been treated with tender hooks all her life because of her illness. She got a heart transplant and now she's met the cowboy of her life. Very touching and definitely hot.

Hurt So Good by Lisa Renee Jones is the weakest story of the lot but even so it deals up a respectable story and under the cover action.

Sizzle by Sahara Kelly is the best and hottest story by far. Imagine catching sight of the high school jock doing the nasty with twins under the bleechers, what's worse is getting off on it. Fast forward 10+ years and meeting said jock again. This time with her sights on you, a fantasy come true that's 3 times as hot.

Blood Brothers - Sign of Seven Trilogy, Book 1

In the town of Hawkins Hollow, it's called The Seven. Every seven years, on the seventh day of the seventh month, strange things happen. It began when three young boys-Caleb, Fox, and Gage-went on a camping trip to The Pagan Stone. And twenty-one years later, it will end in a showdown between evil and the boys who have become men-and the women who love them.

Nora Roberts used to be the biggest thing in romance, but like all authors either the public burned out on her or her new ideas are rehash of the old ones. I still like her books, mostly because she's a good author and her books are very readable.

Blood Brothers is book 1 of a trilogy, sadly it reads very much like most of her other trilogies. What's worse is that we meet all 6 people in the first book and while the concept of an ancient evil haunting a small town is somewhat interesting, its not great.

I would say rent this series from the library. Its worth a read but definitely not a keeper.

Baby, It's Cold Outside

Author: Cathy Yardley
This is what I classify as a RedBook. I refer to all such series (eg. Harlequin Blaze, Silhouette Desire, Harlequin Intrigue and other monthly series books as RedBooks. They are cheaper, shorter and not book in and off themselves, but short reads.

Synopsis:
Wanted: Hot holiday fling with an out-of-towner (sort of)

Is jet-setting, supermodel-bedding hottie Colin Reeves actually home for the holidays? That's the rumor this Christmas. And now he's desperate for something only wholesome Emily Stanfield can provide: a room at her inn.

But Emily's tired of her choir-girl rep. Sex-ravenous and determined, she's facing a tantalizing dilemma: can she entice Colin to some holiday cheer under the sheets—and trust him to secrecy after the deal is done? Because one slip and everybody will be gossiping about Tall Pine's poster girl having the delicious Colin.

Unless, of course, one steamy night turns into something even these folks couldn't predict…

I loved this book. If you watched Gilmore Girls, Sleepy Hollow is what this town is modeled after. Insert a boy who could not wait to leave the small town and grew to be a hot hunk who is now a jet setting Architect and you have the Hero. Emily is the golden girl of the town who turned her family home into an inn, and aside from her college years has never left the town.

The book is fast paced and even the supporting characters standout in this book. The chemistry and sex between Colin and Emily is hot and frequent, and even the plot stands up and is a step above the typical RedBook tripe.

I hope Ms. Yardley continues to write about the inhabitants of this town. It has such potential.

Atlantis Rising

This is book 1 of "The Warriors of Poseidon" series by Alyssa Day.

Sypnosis
Eleven thousand years ago, before the seas swallowed the Atlantaens, Poseidon assigned a few chosen warriors to act as sentinels for humans in the new world. There was only one rule-desiring them was forbidden. But rules were made to be broken…

When she calls…
Riley Dawson is more than a dedicated Virginia Beach social worker. She's blessed with a mind link that only Atlantaens have been able to access for thousands of years. Being an "empath" may explain her wistful connection to the roiling waves of the ocean, the sanctuary it provides, and the sexual urges that seem to emanate from fathoms below…

He will come.
Conlan, the High Prince of Atlantis, has surfaced on a mission to retrieve Poseidon's stolen Trident. Yet something else has possessed Conlan: the intimate emotions-and desires-of a human. Irresistibly drawn to the uncanny beauty, Conlan soon shares more than his mind. But in the midst of a battle to reclaim Poseidon's power, how long can a forbidden love last between two different souls from two different worlds?

I must say that the thing that grabbed me most about this book was the storyline/plot. Warriors from Atlantis who have lived hundreds of years, Vampires, shapeshifters, an evil goddess and even several appearances by Poseidon. In terms of the world Ms. Day created I have to give her high marks.

Sadly where this book fails is the chemistry and romance between the 2 main characters. In fact I was more interested in the supporting cast and plot than I was the romance. Still its book 1 of what appears to be a very interesting world. I'll definitely be giving the next book try.
