Return to Summerhouse

Return to Summerhouse by Jude Derverux

Magic most definitely resides in the Maine summerhouse where the mysterious Madame Zoya has granted the innermost wishes of its visitors. Now, three women have come to this special place with one thing in common: a painful past they would each like to rewrite. Amy, who hides a heartbreaking loss behind her seemingly perfect marriage and family...Faith, a widow in her thirties whose deepest grief is for a man from years ago...and Zoë, an artist shunned by her hometown for reasons she doesn't know, after a traumatic night erased her memory. With their mystical powers, Madame Zoya and her sister Primrose are about to transport the trio to eighteenth-century England to alter Amy's ancestry. But although surprises await each of them, will stepping back in time bring the women the happy endings they seek?

I didn't read the first book Summerhouse but this is a Jude Derverux book and I do like her books, her writing style is easy, accessible and fun. This didn't read like a squeal but as a stand alone book.

Its about Amy who seems to have the perfect marriage but after a miscarriage seems to be in a downward spiral. Circumstances lead her to agree to stay at a Summerhouse for a week and enter Zoë and Faith, 2 other troubled women.

They are offered a one time trip to the past and fix an event in their lives which will carry over into their current lives. There's disbelief and finally acceptance and so they all go on the adventure. I won't give anything else away expect to say that its an enjoyable read and quite satisfying.

I give this a 4.5/5

Blush

Blush by Opal Carew

Hanna Lane wishes she could shed her inhibitions and unleash her wild side in the bedroom. When she meets J. M.--a Kama Sutra and Tantra master--they embark on a sizzling path of discovery, exploring the ancient sensual arts and discovering new techniques that allow Hanna to unlock her naughtiest fantasies and make them a red-hot reality. But when Hanna’s exboyfriend Grey re-enters her life determined to win her back, Hanna longs to share herself with both men. But can she tell J.M. and Grey her most taboo fantasy? And who will win her for keeps?

To my knowledge this is Opal Carew's 2nd novel but after reading her first book, I knew I had to get this one. Make no mistake that despite a storyline this is definitely an Erotica book. Heavy emphasis on the bedroom scenes, although most of the naughty scenes don't occur in the bedroom.

Essentially Hanna, had a great boyfriend but also a big problem, She can't achieve an orgasm. This leads to a break up with her current boyfriend. She then meets a new very sexy guy and ... achieves orgasms. Back comes the old boyfriend who still loves her and wants her back, and we discover he didn't break up with her because of her problem. 2 very hot men and a very satisfied lady, how does a gal choose?

A must buy for all erotica fans, rated 5/5.

Elevated Lust

Elevated Lust (A Boner Book) - Jardonn Smith

These five stories contain no ropes, no chains, no leather. They are devoid of stretch racks, whipping posts, crosses of crucifixion, for there is no interrogation, no torture, no torment of milking or orgasm denial... well, scratch those last two items. These are lust stories, and the only bondage of tortured heroes comes from the imagination of my victims.

This author Jardonn Smith, seems to specialize in niche gay sex genre. This book is all about alpha men who willingly have gay sex but pretend that they are being forced into it.

As long as you know what you're getting into, the stories are very hot.

I rate this erotica a 5/5. But not for plot lines. **Grin**

A Taste of Honey

A Taste of Honey by Jami Alden

An Anthology with 3 stories:
"Stripping It Down". Kit Laughlin writes a column on sex on the Internet though she has not had a decent tumble in her mind in centuries. Now the last hunk to make her orgasm Jake Donovan wants back in her life, but though she still loves the rat she does not trust the man who hurt her.

"A Taste of Sin". With her beloved dad ailing, Dr. Kelly Sullivan returns home to be with him. Her high school boyfriend Nick Donovan wants to be with her as he never forgot the taste of his sweetheart.

"Kiss Me twice". When former sweethearts Mike Donovan and Karen Sullivan see one another, both realize their attraction remains strong; perhaps even more so this second time around. However, will they give it a second try since they cannot keep their hands off one another?

What can I say, if you're looking for a quickie and lots of hot steamy sex scenes, this is a good bet.

I rate it a sensual 4/5

The Snow Queen

The Snow Queen by Mercedes Lackey
Aleksia, Queen of the Northern Lights, is mysterious, beautiful and widely known to have a heart of ice. No one would seek her wisdom except as a last resort. But when she's falsely accused of unleashing evil on nearby villages, she realizes there's an impostor out there far more heartless than she could ever be.

And when a young warrior following the Tradition disappears, leaving his sweetheart and mother to fear the worst, Aleksia's powers are needed as never before.

Now, on a journey through a realm of perpetual winter, it will take all her skills, a mother's faith and a little magic to face down an enemy more formidable than any she has ever known.…

This is book 4 of Mercedes Lackey's Tales of Five Hundred Kingdoms. Like all her other tales of Five Hundred Kingdoms books this was top notch. However while there was romance in the previous books, this one did not have that angle. It focused more on the story and the life and growth of The Snow Queen and her struggle against the evil self-styled Snow Queen importer.

This is a solid book and expands the vast world and lore of Five Hundred Kingdoms, however, I can't say that its my favorite. I would have liked to see a more epic conflict resolution. But regardless, a great read even if it was released in hard cover (ie. more expensive)

I give this book 4/5 stars.
